Hey all. I served in Yekat between 97-99. Served in Ufa first, then Kurgan, and closed out in Perm. I'm finally getting my chance to go back. Going to Perm and Kurgan. I'm so stoked. Going with my wife. Excited to see all my old friends. - - - - - - - -

We have (as a Sr. couple) been called to serve in the Yekaterinburg mission. We are excited about the call, but have many questions. Any help would be appreciated! 1. What are the chances of shipping packages (such as clothing)and having them arrive? 2. Just how cold can we expect it to be? How wet? Do we really need rubbers to go over our shoes? 3. Is it best to purchase winter coats there? What about extra-tall sizes? 4.Any idea what we (Sr. couple) will be doing? 5.Will we really need mosquito repellant? 6. Are the usual spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, basil, oregano) available? 7. Do any of the seniors drive automobiles? 8. Was there anything you took that you could have/should have left home? or anything you wish you had taken?
Looking forward to your answers, the Zollingers - - - - - - - -

My name is Patrick Tedjamulia, since returning from my mission, I have seen and communicated with hundreds of returned missionaries who are hungering for advice, encouragement, and direction concerning their professional careers.
As a result, several prominent members and I have started a world-wide returned missionary professional mentorship newsletter. The newsletter is called “The Mission Continues.”
The Mission Continues (www.themissioncontinues.org) is an email newsletter filled with articles from individuals from around the world who wish to share their professional knowledge and experience with the world-wide returned missionary community.
Some of our Mentors/Contributors include Keith Merrill, Dale Murphy, Ed J. Pinegar, Randy Bott, Frederick G. Williams, Brandon Doman, Ken Shelton, etc…
There is no charge for the newsletter, it’s free to everyone. Everyone involved with this project is doing this voluntarily.
Go to www.themissioncontinues.org for more information. Please share this newsletter with all the returned missionaries world-wide that you feel could benefit from learning about the professional experiences of others.
Also, please get in touch with us if you wish to serve as a professional mentor to hundreds of returned missionaries world-wide.
Let’s spread the vision that “The Mission Continues”
Sincerely,
Patrick Tedjamulia

Hey folks. For those oldies who served in 95-97 I talked with Genadi Petrov tonight. For those who want the low down he is married and has a little boy. He still lives in St. Petersburg and helps the church with registration / visa / apartment issues. I am planning on visiting at the end of may so we've been in touch. If you would like his number you can email me and I'll give it to you. - - - - - - - -

MARRYING A GIRL FROM RUSSIA
My name is Rich Crane. I served in Novosibirsk from 97-99. I have a huge favor to ask, particularly from those who may have married someone from Russia or know someone who has.
One of my good friends is marrying a girl from Irkutsk he met at BYU. He's having problems getting permission from the Russian Consulate to marry her. Has anyone experienced this? What can he do?
Thanks for your help. I'd appreciate it if you could email me your responses to rcrane@ou.edu, and copy them to robert.smith@ihc.com.
Thanks so much and I look forward to hearing from you. - - - - - - - -
