HI! I reciently recieved my mission call and am so excited the I will be serving in the yekaterinburg mission. I was wondering about winter boots should I get a pair here? in the mission list it didnt say anything about them so any help would be most apprecated.

Nonalynn, everything in Russia is very cheap. But if you can't live without peanut- butter, buy it here because it's hard to find it in Russia. it's possible, but hard. And brown sugar too. And it's will be smart to buy shoes, which comfortable for a missionary walking. American shoes are more durable. But do not take with you things, which you planning to bring back home because you will travel a lot on your mission field and you will have huge suitcases by the end of your mission, because you will want to take with you things that will remind you about your mission and gifts from Russian members. But if you want to do something sweet for Russian members, you can bring pastings and pictures of Jesus Christ. it is no LDS stores in Russia, so members will be happy to have it from you. Or Young woman's diaries, their are for free here in LDS stores. have a good expirience and may the Lord Bless you :) And thank you so much for your future work. your sister, Evgenia

Matthew Bailie, you do not need a sleeping bag. You will have a bed, I promisse :) And appartment too. But take a light-weigth blanket and your pillow.

Zhenya is getting better....I saw him yesterday (Sunday), and he looks a bit better, I think he is planning to go see your mom in the summer. Hello, I have my mission call to Yekaterinburg and I also have a few questions. First, are missionaries able to bring a small musical instrument such as a flute? I would love to play in sacrament meetings and for other kinds of things. Second, is a sleeping bag a good idea to take on the mission. Thank you.
